Azim's House

Azim was a Curtin student. He was in fact a football player. He stayed in a typical student house in Desa Senadin. It was a normal house with 3 bedrooms. He stayed there with 2 other housemates. Azim had the master bedroom with the adjoining bathroom.

One night, both Azim's housemates were out, and Azim was home alone.
He was taking a shower when someone knocked loudly on the front door. He heard it and went out to open the door. But there was nobody there.
Azim went back to his bathroom, and continued showering.
Then there was a loud knock on his bedroom door. Azim got out of the bathroom and opened the bedroom door. Again, there was nobody there.
Azim locked his bedroom door and went back to his bathroom.
While he was showering, there was a loud knock on his bathroom door.
This time he ignored it.
Then, there came a loud knocking on the roof...

Another time something weird happened at Azim's house, Azim was studying at his desk when he felt a presence behind him. He looked around, but there was nobody there. He continued studying, and again, felt something behind him.
So he threw a pen over his shoulder without turning around.
And the presence disappeared.

Advice and Beliefs: Staying in a Hotel

If you have a double bed all to yourself:
This applies if you have a bed of any size larger than a single bed all to yourself.
Do not sleep to one side. Try to sleep in the centre of the bed, or put pillows or your luggage on the space beside you instead of leaving it vacant.
If you leave half of the double bed empty, "things" might be tempted to crawl into bed with you.

If there is a knock on your room door past midnight:
Do not open the door or look through the peephole. Try your best to ignore it. If it was someone you know, he or she would call your name, and if it was the hotel staff, they would call your room phone.
Opening the room door would in effect invite the "thing" in, and you wouldn't want to catch a glimpse of it through the peephole.
For the same reason, if you look out through the peephole, but see nothing, do not open the door to check. Not opening the door late at night also makes sense for physical security reasons.

When you go to bed:
Leave at least one light on at night. This will supposedly deter ghosts from disturbing you as they are said to be less comfortable when there is the presence of light.

When you are told that the hotel is fully booked:
Do not insist on having a room. The staff might give you a room that is usually left empty due to strange incidences occurring there.
It is also local belief that several hotel rooms are left empty on purpose for ghosts and spirits as a peace offering, especially if the area is newly developed.

If the Holy Book in the hotel room is left open to a certain page:
If the Quran or Bible in the room is left open to a certain page, do not shut the book. The particular page it is opened to may have been left there as it contains "powerful words" to scare off or control the spirits there.

Knocking on the Window

The Grand Continental Hotel in Kuching is also said to be haunted.
KL stayed there for one night when she had to transit in Kuching. Her room was on the 5th floor of the hotel.
At midnight, the was a knocking on the window. She later found out that a China girl (Chinese girl from mainland China) had commited suicide there.

6 Nights at the MAS Training School Accommodations

An ex-MAS staff, KL, once attended training at the MAS training school. She stayed there for 6 nights.

As there was nothing much to do, KL used to watch NTV7 movies late at night. The movies started at 11pm, and it was news time at 12am.

At exactly 12am, KL would hear strange sounds. She tried to listen carefully to the sounds, and it sounded like very very slow music sung in an unknown language.
The singing was very clear, but she was unable to make out the language even when she concentrated. According to KL, it was like "small kids simply singing, but with adult voices."
The sounds were coming from the air-conditioning vent.

KL called the receptionist to ask why they had turned up the volume of the speakers outside her room, and was told that they hadn't turned up the volume.
So where were the sounds coming from?

Then, the tv remote control went missing.
KL looked for it all over, and even moved the blanket and sheet searching for it. But it seemed to have disappeared.

She went to class. When she got back, the tv remote control was on her bed.
KL said it was as if "someone watched tv on bed then left the remote there."

Her trainer noticed her expression and asked why she looked so pale. KL's friend then told him that there was "something wrong" with the room. The trainer was concerned and immediately asked KL to change her room.

However, KL decided to remain in the same room as it was already her last night there.
That night, she heard the noises again.
KL called the receptionist and asked them to accompany her and find out where the noises were coming from, but they refused. They told her not to think about it and go to sleep.

KL's room was at the end, so she had only one neighbouring room beside her room. An Indian lady from Terengganu was staying in the neighbouring room.

Every night KL could hear loud sounds coming from the room besides hers. It sounded like people were purposely opening and closing the clothes cupboard door very loudly.

As there was a Kuala Lumpur-Terengganu flight at night, the Indian lady flew back to her hometown after the last class on Friday. KL stayed another night.
That night, even though the Indian lady had flown back to her hometown, there were loud banging sounds coming from the empty room...

Anaesthesia

Anaesthesia lived with her two male housemates in a small terrace house in Desa Senadin. She had the back room, nearest to the garden.

Sometimes when she slept, she was pressed. Bruises appeared on her body. Both her housemates had caught glimpses of a female sitting in her room. Sometimes there is knocking on her bedroom window, right behind her bed. And Anaesthesia hears her crying...

Anaesthesia moved out of that house and went to live with Cup and Jade. That was after the "slippers" incident at Cup and Jade's house.

Jade was never bothered again after that, she had been given a bottle of holy water and she hung a silver cross on her bed.
But sometimes, sometimes Cup and Anaesthesia had mysterious bruises when they woke. Once Anaesthesia had bruises shaped like fingerprints griping her arm...
