Just Because of a Joke at a Kopitiam

This happened quite a few years ago in Bintulu. There were 4 guys, Allan, Barry, Collin, and Danny. One night, the 4 of them went to play snooker. Barry brought them all in his van. They finished playing after midnight and went to a kopitiam (coffee shop) for some late supper.
They sat at one of the tables outside the shop. There were 5 chairs there, so there was an empty seat.
They started joking. Barry was sitting next to the empty chair.

Allan: "Ehh.. Ask your friend sit lah, here got one seat."

Barry: "Ohhh let him stand, no need to sit."

Collin & Danny: "Sit lah.. This seat is for you.."

They enjoyed playing around, acting as if there was another person there. When they ate their noodles, they even put an extra set of chopsticks and spoon there.
After they ate they went home.

Barry sent them all home, and went on his way home. He was alone in the car. He glanced into the rear view mirror. There was another person sitting behind him. He turned to look behind him but there was no one there. He could only see an old man in the rear view mirror.

He quickly parked his car and rushed into his house (he stayed on the 2nd floor of a shop house). As he ran up the stairs, he could feel someone running behind him.
He opened the grille and the front door and rushed in. He tried to close the door, but couldn't push it shut. There was something outside that seemed to want to follow him in.

He shouted and said "This is not your place you shouldn't follow me in..if you still insist, I will get the guan yin niang niang (Buddhist goddess of mercy) thing and throw at you.."
And very quickly shut the door.
